Born and raised in Detroit on the sounds of A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul, Curtis Cross constitute out at an early age that he had a talent for hip-hop, peculiarly for beat generation. He spent hours in his basement -- at kickoff with scarcely a chintzy drum machine and a dwelling house karaoke scheme, finally moving up to more sophisticated MPCs and samplers -- making tapes. One of these tapes got into the hands of fellow Detroiters Slum Village, wHO were impressed by what they heard and invited Cross to bring forth a racetrack on their 2002 mixtape Dirty District, as well as on their official full-length Threesome (Past, Present and Future). After that, Cross, world Health Organization was sledding as Black Milk, teamed up with producer RJ Rice, Jr. (or Young RJ), as the group B.R. Gunna, rhymed and making beat generation on the duo's 2004 release Cheating District, Vol. 2. That same year, Slum Village, world Health Organization were looking for for production work because common beat-makers Waajeed and Kareem Riggins were interfering with other projects, hired B.R. Gunna for 11 of the 13 tracks on their Detroit Deli LP. In 2005, without a pronounce and with his mathematical group on respite, Black Milk went on to release Sound of the City, which was more of a mixtape than a typical album, on his possess Music House Records, and curtly after worked on SV's self-titled record. By this time, indie blame mark Fat Beats had heard Black Milk's exercise, which many compared to that of the former J Dilla and producer/MC Madlib; impressed, the label signed him in 2006 and issued his official solo debut, Pop Demand, in March of 2007.

Sony: Thin Is In

With settop cable and satellite receivers, converter boxes, game devices, and DVD players proliferating in homes, Sony has apparently concluded that thin is in. The company has released a new DVD player (DVP-NS708H) in Europe with the capacity to improve the quality of conventional DVDs to "near HD" quality via what it calls "Progressive Cinema Scanning Technology." It is 17 inches long by 8 inches wide by just 1.7 inches thick. One British reviewer described it as "waif-like."
